I’m going to talk about « Idea of progress »(use quotation marks). To begin with, I’d like to state the definition of progress. Progress is the idea that the world and the society can evolve in terms of sciences, technology, modernization, living condition, etc.(being specific with examples would be better) However, the idea of progress is still debateD between those who consider that it’s beneficial and those for who think it’s harmful.
Now, I propose we look at a question: « Should we fear progress? »

First of all, I think progress is essential for us to evolve. History is made of progress and evolution that have allowed the world to be what it’s today. For example, in the article “The big money”, the narrator speaks of Henry FORD who revolutionized the world with his first car “Model T” in 1909.
II. Scientific progress
Scientific progress can be good or bad. A bad example is the athletes we see on TV getting into doping. Doping is very dangerous on health but they still take these drugs to enhance their performance. At times, these AthleteS get addicted to these drugs.
Scientific progress can be good as well an example being vaccination that allowed protection from some diseases. Over time they have become stronger and more diversified (more advanced).
We also see that not the whole world is a fan of this concept and people try to part( differ with it)
