Sagot :
Bonjour, tu commences ton intro avec la problématique. Celle-ci doit être amenée progressivement après la définition des notions "myths" et "heroes" par exemple.
I chose the topic "myths and heroes" for my presentation and I will start by defining those two notions. According to the definition in the dictionnary, a myth is a traditional and universal story which concerns the life of ordinary or extraordinary people. A myth can be true or imaginary, can explain a social or natural phenomenon or can explain nothing. It can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. As for heroes, they contribute to the myths in which they are involved. This term contains aspects of various kinds. There are a lot of heroes: fictional heroes (from cartoons or comics strips), a fashion hero, a humain rights defender, a sportsman, some unknown heroes (like firemen, soldiers, charity workers...)...
The concept is vast so I would like to narrow is down by focusing on soldiers: Can we say that a soldier is a hero? This term is complex. I’m going to study the soldiers: some unknown heroes, who saved our lives. Firstly, I will present what a soldier is and his missions. Subsequently, I will highlight what makes a soldier unique: the sense of sacrifice that he has to have.
When people think of heroes, what often comes to their mind are fictional characters like Batman or Superman, those super strong, supernatural, stemming characters from comics strips, cartoons, novels or also movies... But, ø heroes aren’t all fictional, there are also ø more traditional heroes, that everyone can identify with cause they are close to us. Soldiers are the main representatives of this type. They are considered as heroes, because they are common people, they are not strong as the heroes from the cartoons, or they aren’t have some supernatural powers. But, they are considered as heroes, because they realized good and generous actions, helping people who are in trouble and powerless, just with their capacity, and their heart. These unknown heroes protect the people, they risk their life to protect them, they do a lot of sacrifices. It’s very dangerous and they sacrifice their life or also the time with their family, for their country, their homeland. We studied a couple of documents about soldiers, some pictures and movies...
Nevertheless, soldier’ life is not easy. Their work is hard, they must be strong, both physically and psychologically. Their job can trigger traumas. It’s horrible for them cause they live constantly with the fear of death! They see their friends, their fellows dying, in front of them, and they can’t do anything to save or to help them. They also do some great sacrifice. In the trailer of the movie “We were soldiers”, we saw that they leave their family and their life. It’s probably the hardest thing to stand for them. Furthermore, it might be seen as a selfish choice, because their relatives will suffer a lot from his absence. In the movie Full Metal Jacket, we saw that sacrificing oneself is a very hard choice, this can bring some trauma, for example for Léonard Lawrence, a character who succumbed to the madness of the army, the training, and the pressure, and who committed suicide. The soldiers suffer. Now they are in the military and their fate is to kill, as we can see on the cover of the movie. It’s a terrible fate, it’s hard to accept this and they cannot decide otherwise cause they are enrolled in the army. ==> ce n'est pas leur choix, ils sont conscrits.
Furthermore, soldier’s life is very dangerous and a lot of them die on the battlefield. They have some weapons to defend themselves, but it’s not enough, in front of the ennemies. The armoured jackets they wear aren't enough against bullets or mines. Too many soldiers die. Their relatives suffer a lot with these deaths. Nevertheless, we can applause the value of these soldiers, who know the risks, the danger, but they not shrink in front of all those dangers. The death is over them. But, even though, they sacrifice their life, for their countries, their homeland. They are very brave. Furthermore, they don’t want anything, any gratitude in exchange of their actions.
In conclusion, we can say that ø heroes have a lot of qualities. The soldiers might be considered as important and valuable heroes for the nations they represent. Sometimes, they can be models for the population. They are brave, generous... They fight the evil. They realize actions for mankind. [...]
