Bonsoir, quelqu'un peut me corriger mes fautes svp? :) merci
Dear producer,
I am Daphne du Maurier, the autor of the novel « Rebecca ». I have wroten this novel in 1985 and it has been adapted into a film version by Alfred Hitchcock after a few years but his film doesn't satisfy me because it hasn't been produced in the way I would've produced it so I want to film a new film version of my novel. I have already found a realisator but I need a producer, and altough I have been searching for one, for one month, I still haven't found one. I really want to work with you cause I know that you are a great producer !
I don't know if you know this novel so I will make you a short presentation of the personnages: Mr de Winter, the owner of Manderley ; Rebecca, the previous wife of Mr de Winter ; the narratrice who becomes the new wife of Maxim de Winter ; Mrs Danvers, the housekeeper of Manderley. There are also other personnages like the family of Rebecca but they are not very significant.
Concerning the summary, in the beginning of the book, the narratrice works as Mrs Van Hopper's paid companion in Monte Carlo. The story takes place in Monte Carlo in a hotel where the narratrice meets Maxim de Winter, a rich man. Maxim and the narratrice got acquainted and they got married. He took her in his house, in Manderley. Maxim's first wife, Rebecca, drowned in a boat. The housekeeper of Manderley frightens very much the narratrice because she liked Rebecca. In the end of the book, the narratrice learns something about Rebecca...
There is a lot of interesting themes in the story. First, the theme of society because the narrator starts as a paid companion and suddenly finds herself as the lady of Manderley ; second the theme of jealousy given that the narratrice talks incessantly about Rebecca ; third the theme of insecurity because the narratrice thinks that his husband is still in love with his ex-wife so she doesn't feel comfortable ; fourd the theme of the past cause the cousin of Rebecca searchs the real reason of the death of Rebecca and there are lots of inquests about that. Besides Maxim reveals to the narrator something about his past ; fifhtly the theme of love cause Mrs Danvers loved very much Rebecca, the narrator loves Maxim de Winter and he loves her too ; finally the theme of the death because the main charachter who is in the title is dead before the story even begins.
I didn't like the film version of Alfred Hitchcock because the editing of the film was badly done and the actors weren't correctly chosen, they were beginners. Moreover in the film of Alfred the death of Rebecca is an accident but I want that to be a murder instead of an accident ! I think that it's more interesting for the spectators if Maxim kills Rebecca.
I want also add some scenes to the film : I want to add a flashback of Rebecca in Manderley to show to spectators what kind of woman she was and a flashback to show how Maxim kills her. I woud also like to add more scenes of the narratrice and Maxim because I think that they don't spend a lot of time together but the rest must stays the same.
I must have a producer like you who products wonderful films. I really want to work with you. I hope that you will accept my request.
