After graduating from Leningrad state university with a law degree, Putin began his career in the KGB as an intelligence officer. Putin began like an advisor to liberal politician Anatoly sobchak and 1994, he had become sobchak's first deputy mayor, 1998 he was appointed deputy head of management under Boris yeltsin's presidential administration. August 1999 Putin became Prime Minister, in 2000 Putin became president and 2004 he was re-elected to the presidency, march 2008 Putin became prime minister of Russia and 2012 he became president again up to now still president.
