Bonjour,

Voici le texte & les questions:

Immigration has a significant impact on many aspects of life in the United States, from the workforce and the classroom to communities across the country. As such, many seek to know more about those who were born abroad and now make their lives here. Whether as naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, refugees and asylees, international students and others on long-term temporary visas, or unauthorized immigrants. In 2013, approximately 4I.3 million immigrants lived in the United States, an all-time high for a nation historically built on immigration. The United States remains a popular destination attracting about 20 percent of the world's international migrants, even as it represents less than 5 percent of the global population. Immigrants accounted for I3 percent of the total 3I6 million US residents: adding the US-born children (of all ages) of immigrants means that approximately 80 million people, or one-quarter of the overall US population, is either of the first or second generation.

A-1- What are the different statuses of immigrants ?
2- Is the USA still attractive today ? Give numbers and expressions to support your answer.

1. Immigrants can be naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, refugees and asylees, international students and others long-termporary visas or unauthorized immigrants.

2. Yes, "In 2013, appoximately 41.3 million immigrants lived in the United States [...]" which "remains a popular destination attracting about 20% of the world's international migrants". So we can say the US are still very attractive and even increasingly attractive.

3. The U.S. are still very attactive because they're the world's largest economy and some people from poor countries are looking for this stability. Moreover, they can be tempted by the American dream: coming with nothing and make your place in the world. The USA have also always been a place for migrants to go as they're their first population.
