First of all , I would like to remind you how long it takes to disappear when you throw your gum on the floor = 5 years..; the bus ticket you let fall = 1 year...; a plastic bag = 450 years...a phone card (it doesn't exist much more but ..) = One thousand years !!! Would you like more examples ....??? I guess you understood..
We'll give you a leaflet , I expect you won't throw on the ground even though it's made of recycled paper, when you will leave this room.....
Talking about plastic bags, do you have a little idea of its impact on our oceans and seas...A great number of fishes, marine mammals,seabirds are dying because of ingestion of micro-plastic pieces. One of the consequences, you might haven't think about, is that the whole human food chain is polluted .The fish you could eat may as well be affected by plastic contamination . Just think about it next time when you'll have your favourite "fish'n chips". You might then be more careful this summer during your sunny holidays.
You'll have a report in the leaflet written by Ellen MacArthur (record woman in 2005 for the fastest solo competition around the globe).In a report written by her foundation, it is said that by 2050, there would be more plastic than fishes in a term of weigh.....
You'll find as well a report on the famous Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
Many NGO's as Plastic Ocean, Greenpeace, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to talk about some of them are acting to try to make you conscious of what's going to happen soon if nobody reacts.
And this is beginning with Us, with You............
In a few months, you are probably going on summer holidays, maybe camping, maybe in a hotel. You might spent hours on the beach, smoking a cigarette (take your own pocket ashtray, please), snorkeling.........We hope that when you'll leave this beach, nothing will show you were there.
We could have talked of many others problems , but we decided, as summer holidays were close, to make you more aware of that part knowing we still have a lot to say to make you aware of the dangers threatening our planet.
Now, still in our leaflet, you'll find as well contacts of many foundations, ONG's hoping you want to know more about.
If you really feel concern, please begin by a new way of life....all the hints are given to you. Save water, save electricity, not from time to time...always. It has to become your new life, think about the next generation......Aren't you willing to let them a planet as clean as possible. It'll be a hard work to turn the cover (ce sera dur de remonter la pente) but we have to do it all together
and raise our children with this awareness. They will be , I m sure, much more responsible, if we teach them the right things to do.

Tu retrouveras forcément quelques infos sur le net , en même temps je ne peux pas inventer la Fondation MacAthur, ni un tas d'autre chose, je reçois, ou plutôt ma mère, les infos de Green Peace , ONG à laquelle elle donne son soutien. Donc j'ai repris certains docs de Green Peace (Français malheureusement...sniff!! sinon j'aurai été plus rapide et sans faute) et j'ai "fait" autour...........
Par contre je voulais aussi parler de la navigatrice française (son nom m'échappe...) aussi très impliquée mais pas eu le courage de chercher sur le net....ça y est Maud Fontenoy. !!!...je crois. Pas le courage d'y retourner ni de vérifier sur le net si elle a une fondation ou autre.............
