In my opinion, a journalist in that kind of situation are , most of the time, covering events in countries at war.
Should they intervene ?? It depends on the situation. If there's a bombing, they "should" keep on covering what's happening, but you can't either blame them for helping some one hardly wounded .
They have to remain partial, but they can't stop being human beings.
However, they still have to go on doing their job and they have to report about what's happening
I think they would feel useless doing nothing. . When you watch a documentary which lasts half an hour or more, you are aware that the journalists have been working much more,have been staying maybe more than a month over there and the images shown are the main ones for you to understand what's going on.
Being watching a journalist intervening to help people wouldn't have sense, because it's is private life, its own feelings, and he has to keep strong facing the cameras.
Now, I've been talking about a war journalist, because life-or-death situations was mentioned. What isn't mentioned is what kind of interventions... And, in the same way as it's quite hard to speak about something we've never been facing, we just don't know, its also impossible to have the right answer or either to have an objective thought
