MYTHES ET HEROES

Introduction:

TV is a constant presence in most Americans' lives. With its fast-moving, it commands many people's attention for several hours each day. Studies have shown that television competes with other sources of human interaction such as family, friends and school. It also influences viewers' attitudes and beliefs about themselves.
It seems fair to ask ourselves:
What are the impacts of television on humans?
First, we’ll see the physical impacts caused by television and then, we’ll see the moral impacts caused by this invention.

I]Physical impacts ( p.23 : D ,C,A -24: A )

Today, the average American watches close to 8 hours of TV each day like we can see in document D. But it's very dangerous because TV can shorten our life !
Indeed, like we can hear in an oral comprehension in document C, an expert says that every single hour of TV viewed may shorten life by as much as 22 minutes.
Moreover, by watching TV too often, our health is in danger : eyes suffer from it and the tele viewer, slumped and filling with chips and chocolate ,risks to gain weight.
Like we can see in document A we learn that a children who watch too much TV, have many problems at all points of view such as: academic difficulties, obesity, sleep issues, attention-span disorder and diabetes but nowadays, we can add another negative point on this list : being bullied. This is because children who spend more time watching TV have less time to interact with their family. This, impacts a child’s ability to make friends because they lack the interpersonal skills needed for effective socializing.
The document A (p.24) certifies this document. Indeed we are so much fascinated by this magic box ,that we forget everyone around us , so TV entails a degradation of the family life.

Thus, on the physical plane, TV train many negatives and dangerous impacts, but we will see now that the impacts of TV don't stop at this level.

II] Moral impacts (p.23: B)

Indeed, as is clearly illustrated in document B: we are puppets.
Indeed on the picture we can see at the bottom: people with body, at the middle: TV screen and at the top: a hand which controlling the people!
So, without realizing it, we are manipulated by television and the media, we don't think any more, we swallow all that we present us. This is the result of the changes which effected on our behavior. Indeed, TV has a moral impact on human. We want to look like the heroes of our series at all points of view, which is bringing about a change in our moral behavior, our actions, our thinking , influences our mood and our sensitivity.
Moreover, the TV broadcasts too many violent scenes and increases the aggressiveness of the young people

So, unfortuately, however,far too much programming is not wholesome and uplifting but is violent , degrading and destructives to moral values.

Conclusion:

To conclude, it seems good that the television, such as it is nowadays, presents much more dangers than advantages. We should reduce the quantity of violence and increase the number of cultural programs. In the meantime, it would be necessary to advise to people, and especially to young people, to watch TV by avoiding the excess, with critical mind.
