bonjour
J'aimerais savoir s'il y a des fautes dans ce que j'ai écris. Pouvez-vous s'il vous plait me les trouver et m'aider à les corriger. Merci d'avance pour vos réponses

- Introduction :

I am going to talk about the notion of myths and heroes.

First of all, I’m going to give the definition of a myth and a hero. A myth is a traditional story related to a country’s culture and history. A hero is someone who inspires people thanks to his noble qualities.

In English class, we studied two national heroes who became model for the world : Gandhi and Nelson Mendela. That's why I would like to illustrate this notion through the Nelson Mandela’s and Gandhi's life.

Thus, we can wonder how these leader of national movements have become heroes for people around the world.

At first, I’m going to describe the struggle of Nelson Mandela, and how he has marked the history by his pacifist action.
Secondly, I'm going to explain how Gandhi became an iconic figure of the independence of India

- Developpement :

To begin, during this year, we have studied the text “Nelson Mandela : his life ” which retraces the life of Nelson Mandela.
We learn that Mandela, was born in 1918 in South Africa.
At this moment, this country was part of the British Empire and was ruled by the white government.
In 1948, the right-wing National Party came to power and set up the separation between black and white « legal ». This separation is called the “apartheid”.
Black people did not have the rights to vote. They had to have passbooks to go and work in white districts. All public places were segregated.
Consequently, blacks people have gradually lost all their rights in relation to whites.

He joined politics early by becoming a lawyer and he has never stopped his fight against the apartheid. He quickly became the enemy of the government, thus he spent 27 years in prison.

He always believed that the non-violence was the appropriate answer to discrimination.
And thanks to him, apartheid was abolished in 1992.
Black people in South Africa really became citizens. He managed to change the lives of his fellow-citizens and to pacify South-Africa. That is why he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Therefore, he can be regarded as a legend in a myth .

Finally, we watched the movie Gandhi directed by Richard Attenborough.
The film traces famous elements of the life of Gandhi and the struggle for Indian independence.
Gandhi is also a hero because he fought non-violently for the peace in India. He led India in independence, it means that it no more belonged to Britain. He also established the religious pluralism, everyone's religion was welcome to India.
In 1930, he led the salt march. This march, was an act of civil disobedience to protest British rule in India. This march resulted in the arrest of nearly 60,000 people, including Gandhi himself.

- Conclusion :

In conclusion, these leader of national movements have become heroes for people around the world.
I consider them like heroes because, despite all difficulties they went through, they managed to reach their goal to bring peace in South Africa and in India.
In my opinion, they have written myths, people from different cultures can nowadays live together in harmony thanks to a long and painful fight for equality led by honorable persons.

To widen this subject, we can also approached this notion with the heroes of the everyday life such as the surgeons.
