the english is quite , literally , the greatest language in the world . 
English plays an important role in our life .
I this land of innumerable regional languages in different states , English servs a link-language in the country .
There are some absolute advantages of regional languages over English no doubt , but in spite of that there is the need and importance English language in our life .

English is my favourite  (favorite- l'orthographe dépend si c'est US ou GB !!) language...it's very personal ; but I enjoy watching serials on TV or movies at the cinema in original version. It's make me learn some expressions and they can't translate everything in the subtitles.
More seriously, English is the only language which will offer you opportunities to talk with people around the world.
As I want to travel a lot later on, even though in some countries they don't speak English fluently, there's always some words as "Thank you, How are you, What's your name...." which help to get in touch with the people, to try to meet them, to create some relation ship or just to be understood !!!
When I meet American or English people in France, it's a pleasure for me to help them and speak with them.
To conclude, English is an international language.
