Catherine Morland is a dreamy and naive young girl who grows up among her brothers and sisters with peaceful parents in a small village, and who should never have been a heroine, Jane Austen says. Fortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Allen, neighbours and friends, decided to take her out of her routine life by offering to accompany them on a trip to Bath. There, she will meet a whole new world and characters as different as they are interesting, the Thorpes and the Tilney. She will then be able to let her crazy imagination run wild, although in the end some of them turn out to be much more normal than she thought when others turn out to be more treacherous.
