It was 1 p.m., when news reported that Hurricane IRMA’s track had passed on our island.
The panic then settled, the stores filled with people buying water and food increased prices in order to make the stocks of provisions.
We had re-entered the exterior belongings inside the house and then barricaded the windows and doors so as not to let air in.
The next day was probably not the end, but the beginning. Around 21 Hours, the alarms sound the beginning of containment and the electricity stops.
From the inside, we could hear the wind hitting the shutters with violent gusts.
For a little over 24 hours there was nothing to do and it took a very long time.
At the end of the confinent and at the opening to the outer world, we discovered severed cables, lost plates and lying trees.
The appropriate authorities have taken the necessary steps to resume the normal course of our lives.
