MYTH AND HEROES

I would like to illustrate this notion through the theme of : MYTH AND HEROES.
To illustrate this notion i will talk about two types of heroes : Ancient Heroes, Modern Heroes and the heroes of everyday life. But before that, lets define the myth and a hero.
A myth evokes a story often told orally with a heroic dimension and a hero can be a fictional or real character who is respected by his story or actions.
This leads me to wonder : How are the ancient heroes different from the current heroes ?
So first i will reflect on : Ancient Heroes. Then i will address the issue of Modern Heroes and Finally i will tackle the idea of the heroes in the shadows.

I) Ancient Heroes

Geronimo ( forme de note )

- Motivated by revenge, so he does not act especially for others but essentially for him.
- He was born to be a leader.
- Self interst
- He did not have a special sense of justice.

Achilles

- Motivated by the glory, so he does not act especially for others but essentially for him like geronimo.
( short life because he wanted war just to have fame. )
- He did not especially want to save lives
- He was almost invincible. His only weak point was his heel and died because an enemy during the Trojan War had hit him there.

II) Modern Heroes

Nelson Mendela

- He is known to be the first black president of South Africa and also by his actions against Apartheid, his courage and his determination to build a world of peace for future generations.
- From an early age, NM struggled with inequality.
- He adopted a method of peace to fight against apartheid while his people were victims of violence.
- He sacrificed part of his life to help black people.

Firefighters

- They fight and risk their lives to save our lives.
- They do not seek glory in return.
- They like to help people.



III) Heroes in the shadow

Our Parents

- They dedicate their lives to their children.
- They are not afraid to face others for their children.
- They do not ask for anything in return.

Conclusion :

To answer the question that was: How are the ancient heroes different from the current heroes? We can notice that modern heroes are very different from the old heroes. Modern heroes do not think about reward but help others. But another question can be raised. Why are old heroes considered heroes?
