Hi I’m going to present to you what a lycanthrope is because I am passionate about this.
A lycanthrope, known in French as a were-wolf and in mythology, legends and in folklores mainly caused by the européenne civilisation when a human has the capacity of transforming himself, partially or completely into a wolf or an anthropomorphe créature in the wolf family. This transformation can be caused by malediction or voluntary rituel and one more recent is the scratch of a wolf or an other lycanthrope. It happens generally at night on a full moon and turns into a wolf until morning. The stories about lycanthropes are mentioned since the fresque mythology and were spread throughout Europe and more recently the whole world. The theme of the lycanthrope has become a modern subject reintroduced in art, Fantasy literature and also in films, it is in the making of many different horror films like saga. These modern lycanthropes can have different looks then others and have a weak spot for silver bullets and aconit Napel. The French term comes from Latin (lupus).
Collin de plancy said that the were-wolf means « ? » because gar is reinterpreted like the ... of garer. The debate on the lycanthropes come from hundreds of years ago and you can see very diverse theories ganging up that applies to theologians, anthropologists, investigators, doctors, occultists, and wolf specialties. Wolf attacks, berserkers, sickness symptoms, psychiatric troubles and drug abuse explain the legends of lycanthropes but a mystery is left about their universality and the fact that the belief in the physical metamorphosis and possessions are still very widespread!
