Al Capone was a notorious gangster who ran an organized crime syndicate in Chicago during the 1930s, taking advantage of the era of Prohibition . Al Capone had taken advantage of the prohibition period and started to deal with alcohol in the black market. Eliot Ness who fought hardly to have Al Capone arrested was little more than a nuisance to him. The lawman raided some of the gangster's breweries, helped disrupt his cash flow and built evidence that led to Capone's indictment for violating prohibition. But in the end, prosecutors decided they couldn't win with that evidence and dropped the charges.
