Explications :

The law of July 29, 1881 protects the freedom of the press which is a principle of fundamental right enshrined in the French and American Constitution in particular. Newspapers, radio, television, and the internet press are considered by this law as the watchdog of democracy.

In return for this very broad freedom, the press has duties and obligations. The code of ethics of the press provides that the journalist takes responsibility for all his writings, even anonymous. The journalist considers slander, accusations without proof, the alteration of the documents, the deformation of the facts, the lie, for the most serious professional mistakes.

As a result, information and reports are built on the basis of real facts verified by the reporter. It can keep its sources completely secret, but must not distort the truth so as not to mislead readers or listeners.
