Hi Ellen,
It is with sadness that I have to send you this message. I do not want us to be friends anymore, as what did happen last week was very difficult for me. After much thinking and pause, I have decided that it is my best interest (and probably yours) that we do not see each other anymore and cease to friends. It is disheartening for me to send you this letter as we have been friends for many years.
Making jokes about me in front of the entire class and especially your soon to be boyfriend was a terrible experience and led me to believe that you are not my best friend. While I understand that we can all laugh and make jokes, your attitude was really mean and bad towards me. And for this I will never forgive you.
