Everyone can't afford a trip around the world. It is a shame, because there is a variety of different cultures that need to be explored. A film or a book is more accessible than going abroad. Being exposed to difference will prevent us from being intolerant. So, if we really like an anime that takes place in Japan, for instance, we will be more curious. Maybe some people would even like to move out there.
