: Winston Churchill, né le 30 novembre 1874 au palais de Blenheim (Woodstock,Oxfordshire, Royaume-Uni) et mort le 24 janvier 1965 à Londres, est un homme d'État britannique . Officier britannique, journaliste, il est élu député conservateur puis libéral. Plusieurs fois ministre de 1906 à 1929 .Il se révèle alors un chef de guerre fermement décidé à conduire son pays à la victoire.Pendant la guerre, il se rapproche des États-Unis, puis conclut un accord avec Staline, mais reste méfiant à l'égard des communistes. Battu aux élections en 1945, il reste un politique influent.Il est réélu premier ministre en 1951. Il reste au pouvoir jusqu'en 1954 puis se retire de la vie politique.
