It was sunny, the temperature was about 17 degrees. I got dressed and had breakfast. That day, I went hunting with an Indian. I took my bag, my snowshoes and my rifle.
I walked through the woods and I saw raccoons, beavers and foxes. I decided to set a new trap. I had seen lot of coyotes on the other side of the river, I would stay there the next day and build a raft and set the traps. Then I went up to see the smoke coming out of the huts of the Indian tribes. I traded furs and bones with these Indians, and they were not hostile.
On the way back I heard a noise coming from a bush, and when I got closer I saw a wolf, I prepared to shoot but stopped when I saw three cubs. It was a mother and I just could not kill it and put these cubs in hunger. So I continue my way to my cabin and finish my day by preparing new traps for the next day.
