Sagot :
Dear Agata
As I mentioned when we spoke on Skype the other day, I would like to invite you to spend Christmas with me and my family in Birmingham. I break up for the holidays on Friday 19th December (the same day as you I think) so any time after that is fine. Perhaps you could see if there are cheap flights available on the Sunday or the Monday. My father will not be working on those days and so we could come and pick you up.
I can promise you a lot of fun if you come and stay with us. We will go shopping to the new Bullring Centre where they have a branch of Harvel Nichols. There is also an outdoors ice rink and a Christmas market. The only time we ever go to church is on Christmas Eve and it would be great if you could come along and witness a Protestant service. On Christmas day itself, we will have a large lunch with roast turkey and all the trimmings (you will get to taste brussel sprouts which are, shall we say, an acquired taste). After that we will sit down as a family and open all of the presents that are under the tree whilst watching the Queen on television. Last year, we had a party on Boxing Day for our friends and neighbours, which was a lot of fun. We'll do the same this year and you are, of course, invited.
What do you do in Italy for Christmas? Do you have a big lunch on the 25th or do you have a feast on another day? What about presents? Do you buy each other gifts and put them under the tree? Do you leave a glass of brandy out for Father Christmas like we do?
I can't wait to see you at Christmas! Send me your flight details as soon as possible and we'll be there to pick you up.
All the best,
Ton nom
