Le soir de Noël, nous entendîmes un grand coup de feu. Les voisins en paniquent appelèrent les policiers qui après un moment arrivèrent. Ils sonnèrent chez mrs Bellagruneton et la jeune femme ouvrit la porte en pleure :
« Mon mari, il est mort aider moi je vous en supplie ».
Les policiers entrèrent en hâte pour découvrir le corps. L’un d’eux s’avança vers mrs Bellagruneton et lui demanda les détails du meurtre. Elle lui répondit qu’elle était en haut dans la salle de bain en train de ce préparer pour le réveillon de noël quand elle entendit du bruit et descendit dans le salon munit de son arme et trouva son mari couché au sol baignant dans une mare de sang.
