2) Johannesbourg is the most populated city in South Africa, with 5,635 millions of inhabitants.

3) Soweto (South-Western Township) is a township of Johannesbourg.

4) The first Europeans settlers were british and dutch.

5) Great Britain occupied the Cape Colony in 1795.

6) In 1822, English became the official language in South Africa.

7)  The Apartheid was a segregation regime where the society considered white people superior and people of other races are mistreated. For example, black women couldn't use the same restroom as white women, and in the bus, black people had to sit in the back whereas white people who could sit in the front.

8) After 3 years of negociation, De Klerk decided to put an end to the apartheid in 1993

9) Nelson Mandela was elected president of South Africa in 1994
