Arguments for:
-to help your community or a less fortunate country
-to feel good about helping others less fortunate than you
-to gain experience for a future job , e.g. teaching or medicine
-some jobs like being a sports star require volunteering
-a rewarding way to build your character
-many of them provide parties, food, fun days
Arguments against:
- you don't have a lot of time
-you don't get paid for it
-it's dealing with people and some people don't like that as they prefer to work by themselves or just with a computer
an illness or a phobia prevents you from doing it
