Victor-Marie Hugo, been born on February 26th, 1802 to Besançon and died on May 22nd, 1885 in Paris, is a French writer, a playwright, a poet, a politician, an academician and a committed intellectual, considered as one of the most important writers romantic of French language. Its life and its work made of him a symbolic character whom the 3rd republic honored in its death on May 22nd, 1885 by national burial which accompanied the transfer of its remains in the Pantheon on May 31st, 1885.
