The nurse's and Dr Benton's alibis are not the same although the nurse pretends to have been at the restaurant with Dr Benton, But Benton pretends that he was playing golf with some friends. One of them lies to the police.

According to me Dr. Benton's motive looks more serious than the other suspects' motives. Dr Benton stole and sold BOTOX on the black market.
If Professor MacConroy had discovered that Dr Benton committed this undercover action, Dr Mac Conroy could have brought Dr. Benton into very hard troubles and he could lose his medicine licence.
Who is the killer?
For me Dr. Benton is the murderer even though his aliby could be supported by his fiends.
