Sagot :
fourth thursday of november in this date pilgrims celebrated the first Christmas Eve in America ,pilgrims came to America from england. the first winter ,may people died because of the weather , many pilgrims didn't know how to hunt ,planted ,or built houses .indians helped them and the next year, near to November pilgrims invited indians to dinner , they celebrated that they already know how to plant ,hunt , they built houses and nobody died because of the weather.
Thanksgiving day is celebrated each fourth Thursday in November in the United States. It's one of the main holidays, a four-day or five-day weekend , with Christmas and New Year.
Around four hundred years ago, pilgrims left England for some religious reasons. They were persecuted and decided to embark ,on a small boat "the Mayflower",on a pilgrimage to the New World. After two months across the Ocean, they finally got to Plymouth, Massachussets. It was winter time, they were tired, weak, ill, cold and hungry. More than half of those people died before Spring. Native Americans (Indians) gave them food, and taught them how to plant corn, wheat, barley and peas, they also taught them to hunt and fish. After Summer, the harvest was so great that the few pilgrims still alive decided to organize a thanksgiving day and invited the Native Americans.
Today, Thanksgiving is still celebrated around a huge meal. The food traditionnally served is roasted or baked turkey with mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes or any smashed fall vegetables (fall = autumn aux US) and a pumpkin pie.
J'espère que ce n'est pas trop long mais c'est important de parler de l'origine de cette fête.
Bonne fin de journée
