There was once a group of 27 pupils who
were planning to go to the city of Sete
for a school trip to the seaside with their teachers . The teachers had given
them a list of things to bring along :
- A pair of sunglasses
- Beach towels
- Solar cream
- Swimsuits
- Beach shoes
- T-shirts
- Skirts or shorts
- Underwears
- A toilet bag
The pupils were delighted and rushed
home to prepare their suitcases. The next morning the teacher gave to the
parents the journey schedule and all the important informations . The headmistress showed
the pupils some pictures of their
accommodation . She allowed them to
choose their room in groups of 4 . Boys and girls in separated quarters . One
of the girls was feeling shy because she was
overweight . A teacher was aware
of her uneasiness and tried to reassure her as much as possible by explaining that people have each their own
figure . Four days after the students
and their teachers were leaving for Sète. Upon arrival they
settled quietly in their rooms. An hour and a half later a guide accompanied them for the visit of Séte city explaining its
history. In the evening the girl who was bothered by her weight did not want go to bed with the other girls in her room.
The second day, the students had a hearty breakfast to begin with.
Around 9:30 am, a boat trip was organized
to explore the sea. For lunch , the class was divided in two . One half went to eat by the sea and the other half
downtown. In the afternoon they all gathered on the beach and as
it was very hot; they bathed and swam. One of the pupils refused to enter the water .
In the following days various activities were proposed . At the end of the week the girl with the weight problem was feeling more relaxed ; she enjoyed lying on the warm sand and dressed up like the others .
