1. The ships were full of fireams, gunpowder, metals, alcohol, cotton goods, beads, knives, and mirrors when they left their European ports.
2. They exchanged these goods for African slaves.
3. The original ports were mainly located in Great Britain and France.
4. The conditions of the slaves on the ships were terrible. The slaves were then packed so tightly into the slave ships that they could hardly move. Often they were chained down and allowed little exercise.
5. The slaves were transported to the southern colonies of the United States of America, such as: Virginia, the Carolinas, and Georgia. They were exchanged for produced goods like cotton, tobacco , sugar Cane and coffee.
