My dearest Mina
I'm writing you a letter to tell you what's going on right now.......
So I arrived two days ago in Transylvania, Romania to visit Count Dracula to inform him about that property he had bought to London.
When I got there, he welcomed me quite quickly, let me in, (= me laissa entrer) and took me to my bedroom, a great and warm one with a fire log.
When I came downstairs , I ate alone because he had already had dinner.
I observed him afterwards, while I was smoking a cigar.....quite a strange man though . (cependant, ceci-dit)
When I woke up the next morning, as I was going to shave , I felt his hand on my shoulder and his voice telling me good morning. I was so surprised that I slightly cut myself. And guess what ? I hadn't hear him coming and couldn't see his reflexion in the mirror ! I turned back, saw him , looked back in the mirror and again no reflexion at all.....Then he suddenly went through a demoniac way of acting , trying to grab my throat and as he did so, he touched my crucifix, you know, the one I always have around my neck.....and just after that changed immediately again in a very calm person.
He just told me cutting yourself was very dangerous in this country. I didn't understand what he meant.
When I came down for breakfast, I looked after him and couldn't find him.
What I'm going to tell you next is the first thing I wanted to tell you and the true reason why I'm writing this letter to you and I wish I would never be necessary to do so. But I didn't want you to get worry or frightened. My dear Mina, there are doors everywhere but all locked up ! Just if I was a prisoner !The only way to get out is by the windows bt it remains impossible . This castle is located on top of a very high cliff and the only view I have from the castle is a precipice a thousand feet high ! I am keeping searching him , but all I find are corridors, doors locked and a dark room just before mine.
Please, don't be too scared when you will read this letter. I'm sure there's an explanation to all this. I admit I'm a bit scared right now but there must be a solution, isn't it ? I came here for his business all the way from London....so it has to be an explanation. Do not worry my sweet heart, I'll write you another letter to tell you when I'll be on my way to London !
