I am often asked : who is Lynn
Uma Bernecker ?
I’m the daughter of John
Bernecker and Uma Thurman. Yes Uma is a wink to the first name of my mother.
They met on the shooting of Pulp
Fiction in 1994, my father was a stuntman and my mother, the main actress of
the movie but you already know that. They are fallen madly in love and, a few
months later, here I am. We are then August 13th, 1995 and I make the enjoyment
of my parents.
With my grandfather screenwriter,
my mother actress and my father stuntman, we would have been able to believe
that I was going to like the world of the cinema but not : I wanted to be
a lawyer.
After the high school, thus I
integrated New York University School of Law (NYU Law) and finally, in 2017, I
graduate.
During the holidays which
followed, I decided to join my father on the shooting of the successful series
of time : The Walking Dead.
It is there that, during a stunt
on the shooting, my father died, under my eyes. At this time the working
conditions of the stuntmen were catastrophic and the accidents were frequent.
During the weeks which followed
the journalists harassed us to have our reactions in the face of this
drama. Finally, exceeded, I finished by denounced the working conditions of the
stuntmen in front of cameras and so everything began : I became the
embodiment of a movement which upset the world of the cinema and the working
conditions of stuntmen.
Two weeks later, I received James
Cameron's call… He wished to speak to me about a role in his next movie Avatar
2. I hesitated for a long time before answering him then I eventually accepted.
The movie was an enormous success
and my actress's career began.
It was two years ago and
I always have difficulty in believing it.
From now on, I have shootings
in every corner of the world.
