DOCUMENT A

1- The characters who are present are Alem, a fourteen years old refugee, Mariam and Pamela, two Ethiopan women working for the Refugee Council.

One mentioned character is Alem's father. (tout à la fin)

2- At the begining of this passage, Alem feels uncomfortable because every one is looking at him.

3- Both women, Mariam and Pamela work for the Refugee Council. They are there to help Alem to apply to the Home Office for political-asylum, so that he obtains this status and can be able to stay in the country and be protected. They take care of people under eighteen (18) years old unaccompanied by parents.


DOCUMENT B

4- "you" are the refugees.

    "we" are the Refugee Council's members, a leading charity in U.K.

5- The goal of this organization is to help young refugees under 18 years old  unaccompanied by parents through asylum process in order to obtain this status. They also provide English classes and social activities. They can help if the minors are held in detention.


DOCUMENT A & B

6- The first document tells us a story, the story of a Alem, a minor refugee unacompanied by parents. It tells us that people from the Refugee Council are there to help him throughout the way for political-asylum to protect him.

   The second document explains what is exactly the Refugee Council,  its terms(conditions),  its goals,  what and how they do.
