The story is happening in the America, in the United States of America. In a foreseeable future, Mae is hired by a group who's named "Le Cercle". This group is the world's most well-know about new technologies and social networks. For her, it was a really good opportunity. As she assumes more and more responsibilities, the company's founder, Eamon Bailey, encourages her to take part in a revolutionary experiment that disrupts the limits of privacy, ethics and individual freedoms.
