The oath is :
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
Since 1892, The Pledge Of Alliance is the troth presented by American students each morning in front of the American flag. It was published in the magazine "The Youth's Companion" in 1892 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. The first version was written by the Rev. Francis Bellamy, in order to be simple, and pronounced in 15 seconds. The objective is to install the patriotic spirit at all students. In 1954, a reference to God was added to the oath, to show the power of the United States of America. American students are standing, right hand on the heart, and recite the oath.
