lorsque l'on parle de deux actions passées dans une même phrase on peut employer
2 fois le prétérit simple si les deux actions sont soudaines et courtes
2 fois le preterit continous si les 2 actions étaient simultanément en train de s'accomplir
le preterit continuous pour l'action qui était en cours lorsqu'elle a été interrompue par une action soudaine (au past simple)
Last Saturday, I was doing my homework just after lunch when my parents returned from a visit to my grandparents.
On Sunday morning, when I woke up my parents were having brunch.
On Saturday evening, I was watching TV when some friends rang the doorbell.
They wanted to take me to a party but I wasn't feeling well.
